MAAP presents awards in recognition of the many talented professionals and students within Minnesota’s alternative education programs.
Student of the Year.
The recipient must demonstrate outstanding dedication, service, and commitment to the impact, values, and mission of learning options education.
The recipient has made significant individual progress and contributed to their program, MAAP, and/or the community.
Program of the Year
The program/school must provide a model in leadership, curriculum, structure, outreach, outcomes, and innovation from which other schools/programs can take inspiration.
The program/school should reflect the vision and mission of MAAP.
The program/school must have active MAAP members on staff.
Staff of the Year
The recipient should reflect the vision and mission of MAAP.
The recipient must be an active MAAP member.
NOTE: Staff members nominated for this award must not have receive this award or are/have been a MAAP board member within the past three years.
Special Program-Initiative of the Year
The special program-initiative must demonstrate strong outcomes and leadership in specific areas of concern or innovation in improving educational, social, political, and/or employment outcomes of participating students.
The special program-initiative must be operating within a larger program/school.
The program-school must have active MAAP members on staff.
The special program-initiative should reflect the vision and mission of MAAP.
