			<title>MDE Program Planning Opportunity</title>

                        <description><![CDATA[ <font face="Times New Roman" size="3"><span style="font-family: Arial"><span style="font-family: Arial"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;Courier New&#39;">The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) would like to enter into </span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;Courier New&#39;">Annual Plan Agreements (APAs) with up to twelve contractors for the implementation of the Reintegration Framework Strategic Planning Toolkit.</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;Courier New&#39;">&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;Courier New&#39;">The amount of each APA must not exceed $5,000 for staff time only and cannot cross state fiscal years.</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;Courier New&#39;">&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;Courier New&#39;">This framework supports the embedding and implementation of research a</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;Courier New&#39;">nd data based practices for the successful reintegration of children and youth between nontraditional separate sites and back to schools and communities through a systems level strategic planning and action-taking process.</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;Courier New&#39;">&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;Courier New&#39;">Program types in which the Reintegration Framework Strategic Planning </span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;Courier New&#39;">Toolkit is to be implemented is limited to education programs in residential care and treatment facilities as defined Minn. Stat. </span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;Courier New&#39;">&sect;125A.515, education programs associated with day programs, and State Approved Alternative Programs (SAAPs).</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;Courier New&#39;"></span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;Courier New&#39;">&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;Courier New&#39;">Contractors will be expected to:</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;Courier New&#39;">Coordinate and direct the work of an interagency planning team to implement the Reintegration Framework Strategic Planning Toolkit in their program;</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;Courier New&#39;">&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: &#39;Courier New&#39;">Participate in up to five meetings conducted by the MDE, two of which will take place at the MDE. The Annual Minnesota Department of Education State Approved Alternative Programs Conference is your chance to: &nbsp;&Oslash; Stay informed and ask questions about MDE guidance, policies and procedures; &nbsp;&Oslash; Gain programming ideas for your students and schools; &nbsp;&Oslash; Catch up and network with each other; and &nbsp;&Oslash; End the summer and kick off the school year with a statewide group of other alternative education professionals.&nbsp;This year we are excited to have a keynote presentation by Hamline University&rsquo;s Center for Global Environmental Education (CGEE).&nbsp; For more than a decade CGEE has been a recognized provider of professional development for teachers in environmental and experiential education curricula and an internationally recognized pioneer in creating multidisciplinary thematic learning projects for K-12 students. CGEE will share with us best practices for environmental and experiential education inside and outside the classroom, along with fundraising strategies for incorporating environmental and experiential education into our schools and classrooms.&nbsp;Additional topics and break-out sessions will include: &nbsp;&Oslash; SAAP guidance, policies, procedures and statewide trends; &nbsp;&Oslash; MARSS Reporting; &nbsp;&Oslash; State Assessments and AYP; &nbsp;&Oslash; Creative use of CLP&rsquo;s; and &nbsp;&Oslash; Curriculum and programming ideas and promising practices. &nbsp;The conference will again be held at The Prep Center at District 287. <p>Registration is limited to 100, so register early.&nbsp; There needs to be an individual registration for each person attending from your school or district.&nbsp; Please be sure not to register people multiple times.&nbsp; </p> ]]></description>
